Things are moving along

Wedding planning is a lot of hard work, and we've been busy lately, so haven't had the chance to update our progress. So what have we accomplished?

I got a veil. I know it doesn't sound like much, I had thought long and hard about whether it was necessary to wear a veil. But, since Trudy's gave me $180 store credit, I decided it was worth checking out. I found a very simple, elegant, and very pretty veil. So, I guess I am wearing a veil. It'll look good in the pictures.

We picked a cake! White cake with mango filling from Schubert's Bakery. We decided this was fairly light and won't overwhelm our guests after they are finished with the twelve course banquet meal. This includes two desserts. For all of you who have ever attended a Chinese/Vietnamese wedding banquet...do you remember the how you felt after eating all of the courses and then they pass out the cake? Yeah, you know what I mean. *But, I am a little sad about not picking the guava cake.

We got our invitations from H2 Cards! Burgundy and gold are the colors of our cards. Our cards are trilingual. We were initially worried about making the cards trilingual since we didn't want the cards to be too busy. For all of you who have ever attended a Vietnamese wedding, you know how much information is in a card. Then for those of you who have ever attended Chinese wedding, you have seen the information that is printed in a card. But, the store manager, Mage Ng, was able to show us a template which incorporated all 3 languages and was not too busy. I think it will turn out well. So, now we have to fill out the template language correctly so that our relatives won't shake their heads in disbelief.

We have visited with some photographers. It is a fascinating process to go through the different portfolios and just see how they perceive colors and textures differently from me and you.

We have visited with a MC/DJ. This has been a more difficult process since we require the MC to be trilingual so that all of our guests understand what is going on. We do not need any karaoke and we do not want any live singing. But we have an appointment with another MC/DJ coming up. We should be finalizing this soon.

My florist, is my good friend, Anna, and I am meeting with her soon to discuss flowers and arrangements and color schemes. I was originally worried about not having the bridesmaid dresses yet and the final colors, but then I realized with the other pieces of the puzzle slowly coming together, I already had a theme going. So I was able to give her an idea of what colors and combinations I was interested in.

So, things are move along.
